Statement of Faith
Article I – Scriptures
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority for faith, doctrine, and daily living (2 Timothy 3:16–17).
Article II – God
We believe in One God, (Deuteronomy 6:4) revealed as; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is the Creator and Sustainer of all things and is perfect in holiness, love, and truth.
Article III – Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, substitutionary and atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His future personal and visible return to earth.
Article IV – Salvation
We believe that all people are sinners by nature and choice and are therefore separated from God. Salvation is offered freely by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Through repentance and faith, individuals are regenerated by the Holy Spirit and receive eternal life.
Article V – The Holy Spirit
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, indwells them, and empowers them to live godly lives.
We further believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as an experience distinct from salvation, empowering believers for witness and service.
Article VI – Spiritual Gifts
We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit, as described in the New Testament, are active and operative today. These include, but are not limited to, prophecy, healing, miracles, discernment, various kinds of tongues, and interpretation of tongues. These gifts are given for the edification of the Church and the advancement of God's purposes.
Article VII – The Church
We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ, consisting of all believers. The mission of the Church is to glorify God by worshiping Him, making disciples, proclaiming the gospel, and demonstrating the Kingdom of God on earth. The church was founded By Christopher Reed on October 13, 2024.
Article VIII – Church Leadership and Governance
We believe that God establishes leadership within the Church to equip and oversee the body of believers. Friends Of The Bridegroom Church shall be led by a Senior Leader along with such additional leaders as may be recognized according to Scripture. Associate/Assistant Pastors and appointed elders.
Leadership is to function with biblical authority, humility, accountability, and integrity, for the purpose of equipping the saints and advancing the mission of the Church.
Article IX – Ordinances
We believe in the following ordinances of the Church:
- Water Baptism by immersion as a public declaration of faith in Jesus Christ.
- The Lord's Supper as a memorial of Christ's sacrifice and a proclamation of His death until He returns.
Article X – Healing and Miracles
We believe that divine healing is provided through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ and is available to believers today. We affirm that God continues to perform miracles in accordance with His will.
Article XI – Sanctification
We believe that sanctification is both a definitive act and an ongoing process whereby believers are set apart to God and progressively transformed into the image of Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit, by ongoing faith in The work of The Cross.
Article XII – The Return of Christ
We believe in the personal, visible, and imminent return of the Lord Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead and to establish His Kingdom.
